"Gernika", a love story with war background of the bombing of the provincial town of the same name begins tomorrow filming scenes of air attack on the Basque town.
BARAKALDO. Koldo Serra, director of the film, is in the sixth of the eight-week shoot of "Guernica", a film with a budget of six million euros will be shifted to Artziniega (Álava) morning to record the scenes of the bombing .
"Today we finished the relaxed hand, put it in some way, the part of characters, feelings and relationships and tomorrow begins the tragic and action part", said to EFE the director after shooting in the morning in the palace of the Finca Munoa of Barakaldo.
To recreate the town of Gernika during the bombing in the Civil War, in addition to the Gernika itself, it will be shot in Artzeniega and Lekeitio while to display the villa after the bombing two abandoned villages in Zaragoza will be used.
The director noted that the bombing will be the most difficult film because working with special effects makes the shooting is "very slow and laborious," but also adventure "very spectacular days" both for those approaching see the shooting as the team itself.
After more than five weeks of filming, Serra points out that getting "some good stuff" that "looks great time" with some players "who are great" that will allow viewers to have a history, the bombing, "which not everyone knows. "
In the remainder of shooting, ensures that they will "put all eggs in one basket" because the viewer will expect to see the bombing of Gernika, so try to "be as true to what happened" and "the most spectacular possible ".
The film stars James D'Arcy (Master and Commander, Cloud Atlas), Maria Valverde, Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean), Alex Garcia, Ingrid Garcia-Jonsson, Barbara Goenaga and Burn Gorman, among other actors.
According Koldo Serra, "Gernika" is a drama, while a romantic, and historical war film with characters who go through moments of their life when they feel "a little lost" and that just finding a few days before the bombing.
So "a love story with a military background which also logically explained what happened and how it happened," says about the film he hopes to see in theaters throughout 2016 is presented.
In this romantic story with military background, Maria Teresa Valverde gives life to a "censor" of the Republican press office who knows Henry (James D'Arcy), an American journalist who is covering peak times the northern front of the war Civil.
Teresa Valverde defined as a cold cerebral woman, working, hard, and when she meets Henry, a writer I admire, "is going thawing the heart" and stresses that this is a "very opposite" of her character and difficult to play because you have to shoot in English and Basque.
He confesses that in this shoot has discovered the "injustice" of the bombing of Gernika and Durango and you liked to know the "personal stories of the people" as a man who approached him in a bar and tell Gernika what happened to his family.
