Role: Bobby Sakowski
A psychotic neighbour to the Hughes family. Seems unusually friendly at first as he and his family drop by for an uninvited visit, but what initially looks like a lack of social niceties emerge into something more sinister.
James about his character: It is great fun to play people who are unhinged, it gives you a huge amount of freedom. Playing Bobby has been exactly that, it feels like playing…There’s a lot of freedom in crazy. For me the biggest challenge is to keep it in the realm of something that can be perceived as reality.
Plot: In Their Skin tells the twisted tale of the Hughes family who retreat to their isolated cottage after a personal tragedy. Hoping for calm and tranquility, instead their home is transformed into a theater of insanity, human puppetry, and murder after a visit from some unusual neighbors. Unnerving from the start and horrifying long after the credits roll, this psychological thriller tears its characters apart and asks: how far would you go to protect your identity, your home, and your family?

Quotes from the film:
Bobby:What's important is who people think we are, who we feel like we are.
Jeremy Power Regimbal: We were lucky enough that he (James D'Arcy) was able to come to Vancouver, where we shot the film, about a week and a half early. We spent that time rehearsing and talking about the character, and also in that time the script changed for the better. The changes came in James’s character, especially in the feedback. I know James was concerned about keep the character contained, but it is a weird, quirky role doing evil stuff. It was a fine balance to keep it from going over the top --- HollywoodChicago.com
Josh Close on what James D'Arcy brought to the part: He brought a ton to it! We had a week's rehearsal before the film & he had this idea for the character & we talked about these more comedic elements. Also, the mirroring elements, he really brought that & saw it as a kernel in the film. So he started working on that & bringing it more into the story.
James D'Arcy: I met Josh and Jeremy in LA and I really liked them. But they'd written the film more for a sort of red neck to be honest. And I said, 'Look I don't know if I'm the right person for that role but if you wanted to do it slightly differently then I've got a few thoughts and if you were interested in pursuing that maybe it could work with me. And they went, 'We don't want it to to be the way it's written anyway.' And God bless Josh he rewrote the script from top to bottom in a week --- msn.movies
Selma Blair: (James D'Arcy) was spooky and he was trying to have a little bit of fun with his character. I just think he's great in everything he does.
The performances are also quite impressive. Blair and Close are great in the roles of a devastated mother and father, but my favourite performance had to be the deliciously quirky one turned in by James D’Arcy as Bobby. Although D’Arcy may be the best at it, the entire cast of adults all seem to have their fingers on the pulse of the awkwardly comedic dialogue exchanged as the two families get acquainted. --- Entertainment Maven, Matt Hodgson
The main actors of the movie deliver great performances, Mark and Mary are superb, but the true diamond of the movie is Bobby (James D’Arcy). His social oddness is absolutely incredible throughout the first half of the movie and his twisted, dark side and is more stunning in the second half --- Horror-Movies.ca, Simon Rother
As far as the characters, Bobby in particular is a memorable one and played amazingly by James D'Arcy. Bobby is like a mix of French Stewart and a domesticated version of the Hitch-Hiker from TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE. He's the type of guy who you wanna punch in the face after talking to him for a few minutes --- thedeathrattle.net
It is D'Arcy who probably gives the most intriguing, and certainly most fun-to-watch performance in the picture, which is saying something of the actor's ability and charisma --- TwitchFilm
The buildup is delicious, thanks to some pointed dialogue and the unnerving performances of the antagonists, particularly James D'Arcy as the patriarch who rides the line between patronizingly polite and explosively violent --- About.com, Mark H. Harris
It’s James D’Arcy who steals the show as Bobby, the psychotic villain who is sure to make your skin crawl --- the-filmreel.com
James D'Arcy ... knocks it out of the park as the deranged Bobby, a power-hungry madman, continually oscillating between inadequate and lonely sociopathic murderer --- Fantasia Fest review, Ted Geoghegan
